KIDS CAN QUILT!
Yes, they can! They will rotary cut (with supervision) and machine piece their very own lap size quilt, and then layer and machine quilt it.
They will have a ton of fun while learning all the basic skills of sewing and quilting, and they’ll have a finished quilt to take home.

Pattern provided at no cost
Fabric:
Large block—5/8 yard (large flowers in the sample)
Single center strip—3/8 yard (yellow in the sample)
Double strips—1/2 yard (green in the sample)
Border #1.—5/8 yard (orange in the sample)
Border #2.—5/8 yard (floral in the sample)
Backing—1 ¾ yard
Batting—at least 60” X 42” (This is the minimum size.)
Equipment:**
Sewing machine in good working order, with the manual and all pieces and parts
Walking foot for the machine if available
Rotary cutting equipment—cutter, 24” ruler and large square about 15” X 15”.
(the mat is provided by the shop.)
Thread in coordinating color
Straight pins
Seam ripper
Scissors and small thread snips
Extra machine needles
- Mom—please pre-wind 4 bobbins before class.
**All of the equipment is available to borrow from the shop or Donna Mae if needed. Please let us know what you need before class.
Bring a sack lunch and drinks and snacks.
Be sure to mark your name on ALL supplies.
You are not officially enrolled in a class until you pay in full. You may call and pay by credit card. For a full refund you must cancel your spot in a class 72 hours in advance of the first class session. If you cancel within the 72 hours, you will only be refunded with store credit if we are able to refill your spot. If you are unable to pick up a physical copy of the supply list, please download it off of our website www.lyonsquilting.com under classes and click on the class you are taking.
