FIERCE LADIES

This class will be held upstairs in our new classroom!

Make your own painted Victorian house neighborhood using your little pieces from your stash. This is a great little quilt suitable for a confident beginner who wants to gain precision with rotary cutting and piecing. This wall hanging can easily be made larger. The little house blocks are really fun.

SUPPLY LIST:

Fierce Ladies pattern by Eye Candy Quilts (available at Lyons’ Quilting)

Fabric – This will depend on many fabrics you want to use! Bring a variety with you and also background fabric per the pattern. You can also make the quilt larger if you wish.  Mary will help you with this – feel free to contact Mary prior to class to discuss.

Machine Sewing Thread – 50 weight neutral color, this thread won’t show

Sewing machine with all the usual supplies, especially a quarter inch foot.  I recommend using a size 80 needle for this project. In this class, you are expected to have experience operating your sewing machine.

Rotary cutter & quilter’s ruler –I recommend bringing your favorite rotary cutting rulers, especially a good square such as a Creative Grids 12 ½”. Because the pieces are small, you might want to bring a smaller ruler.

All your favorite sewing notions such as scissors, tweezers, seam ripper, pins, etc. Please also bring your favorite marking tools that will mark on light and dark fabrics. Mary also recommends Mary Ellen’s Best Press.

We will be taking a lunch break; you can either bring a lunch or we will be placing an order from Lyons Dairy Bar

Pre-class preparation: None. In this class, you are expected to have experience with rotary cutting. You will have the space to cut out in class.
