FOLDED STAR HOT PAD
Learn how to make the Plum Easy 8” round Folded Star Hot Pad in one easy class! Using this reinvented method makes it easy and fun! The star is built with 4 layers of folded triangles plus batting or InsulBright, making it thick enough to protect a surface for a hot plate or taking that hot pan off the stove or out of the oven. It’s a small quick project that will bring personality and beauty to your kitchen or dining table. This also makes a great gift!
Supply List (available at Lyons Quilting):
- Plum Easy Folded Star Hot Pad Round pattern
- 1/6 yard of 4 different fabrics to create the star
- 9” square for backing
- 9” square for batting or InsulBright
- Binding – you will need 27” of 1 ½” binding (bias recommended). A 9” square will provide that amount with seams in the binding.
- Monopoly thread
- Roxanne’s glue baste it
- Best Press
- Stiletto or Purple Thang
- Super non-stick needle for sewing machine (recommended)
- Rotary cutter
- Rulers
- Sharp scissors
- Basic sewing supplies – pins and/or clips, scissors/snips, seam ripper, coordinating thread
- Sewing Machine – one you are familiar with using and that will sew through 6 layers of fabric
Optional:
- Walking foot
- Hot Ruler
- Clapper
