SELF MITERED BABY BLANKET

Learn how to make this fun and easy self-mitered blanket in an afternoon, and you’ll never need to buy another baby gift again!
Choose your favorite flannel for the backing/ border, and co-ordinate another flannel or quilt weight cotton fabric for the inner fabric. The choice is yours. I don’t recommend minky for your first blanket.
• 2 pieces of PREWASHED and DRIED Flannel Fabric, 1 yard for the inner fabric, 1.25 yds for the backing/mitered border fabric.
• Rulers: a 24” long ruler and any large square ruler, 16” or 20” you own
• Rotary Cutter: please put in a new blade! Cutting mats and irons are provided.
• Sewing machine in good working order with a 1/4” foot, new Microtex 90/14 or 80/12 needle, power cord, foot pedal and bobbins.
• For thread, I like Aurifil in a neutral color. ALSO, bring heavier thread (King Tut 40wt for top-stitching works well!) to co-ordinate with your backing/mitered border fabric.
• General sewing supplies/notions to include fine pins, scissors, marking pen/pencil, Clover clips, seam ripper, and I strongly recommend Mary Ellen’s Best Press or Acorn Precision Piecing Products.
Pre-class preparation: Please make sure to pre-wash, dry and iron your fabrics before class. If you have any questions, please contact Annlee by email, annlee.landman@comcast.net or call/text to 970-846-7830.
As class runs from 12pm - 3pm, we will break for lunch and/or a snack, so please bring something suitable from home or stop by St Vrain Market in Lyons for provisions. We have a fridge and microwave in the classroom. I will provide tea and coffee.
