Anything Judy or Quiltworx class is your opportunity to complete one of the Quiltworx patterns that you have purchased and not gotten around to making or the Quiltworx pattern you saw online. Join Susan Sears, Certified Quiltworx Instructor for 7 fun filled classes with other Quiltworx enthusiasts.
Class Title: Anything Judy or Quiltworx Class Pattern: Your choice of any Quiltworx pattern such as Fire Island Hosta, Crimson Poppy, Valley Blossoms, Prismatic Star, any of the new mixer patterns or any of the Quiltworx Technique of the Month (TOM) such as Dinner Plate Dahlia, Vintage Rose, Paradise in Bloom, Mariner’s Compass, Glacier Star or Coral Reef
Skill Level: Experienced Beginner
Instructor: Susan Sears, Certified Quiltworx Instructor
Class Information: Anything Judy or Quiltworx class will be 7 months; one class per month. This is your opportunity to complete one of the Quiltworx patterns or kits that you have purchased and not gotten around to making or the Quiltworx pattern you saw online. You will work at your own pace. Susan will provide any assistance that you might need from picking fabric to paper piecing units to assembly. You are encouraged to use Quiltster to color your quilt. Quiltster is a subscription-based coloring software program. It is available for a nominal fee from Quiltster. Susan has a copy and is available to help with coloring your quilt. Please have an idea of the colors that you would like to use in your quilt. You do not need to bring your sewing machine to the first class which will cover supplies needed for paper piecing, cutting newsprint and organizing your pattern. We will start sewing units in the second class. The last class will be assembly. For the TOMs, if you do not already have the pattern, it can be purchased from Susan Sears, Certified Quiltworx Instructor during the first class or before class. NOTE – Please check http://www.quiltworx.com/corrections/ for pattern corrections based on your print date (found on the back of the pattern).
Special Notions: 12” & 18” Add A 1/4” ruler
UHU Glue stick or similar washable glue stick (Elmer’s) SewLine, Bohin, Fons & Porter or similar brand fabric glue pen & refills
Microtex 70/10 needles
Flower head pins (I use the blue Clover flower head pins & yellow flower head pins)
Purple Thang or Stiletto
Scotch Tape Stapler and Staple Remover
2 template plastic strips, 3” x 12” & 3” x 18”
Zippered plastic bags, 1 gallon size or larger used to organize units; (I use the 2-1/2 gallon size)
Large Paper Clips, about 50 (to help with organization)
Sewing Supplies: Sewing Machine and accessories including your manual ¼” foot for sewing accurate ¼” seams (a guided foot is not recommended)
50 wt neutral or gray thread to blend with fabrics, such as Aurifil
Scissors
Straight pins
Seam ripper
6” x 24” Ruler or similar size
60 mm Rotary Cutter with new blade
