Jelly Roll Rug Supply List

Supply list items are available at Lyons Quilting

RJ Designs pattern

•         Jelly Roll Rug – oval rug
•         Jelly Roll Rug – colossal round rug

1 Jelly Roll of your choice – 40-42 pcs of pre-cut 2 ½” strips 

         (for the colossal rug you will need 2 jelly rolls)

1 roll of Bosal Katahdin On-A-Roll cotton batting strips 2 ½” x 50 yds

         (for the colossal rug you will need 2 rolls)

Size 110/18 Jeans Sewing Machine Needle

1 large spool of thread, such as Aurifil, (at least 1200 yds or 2000 yds for the colossal rug) 50 wt to coordinate or contrast with your fabric.  It’s a great time saver in class if you have 4-5 bobbins pre-wound and ready to go for class. 

The Gypsy Quilter Jelly Roll Tube Maker is optional but will make sewing the strips and the batting together much easier.  (available at Lyons Quilting)

Wonder Clips are optional.  It will make sewing the strips and the batting together easier, if you don’t have the Jelly Roll Tube Maker.  (available at Lyons Quilting)

Sewing machine with zigzag ability (the zigzag stitch will be used in the second class)

•         If you have an extended table base for your machine this will aid in keeping your rug flat.  Bring to the second class if you have one.

Scissors

Rotary cutter and small quilter’s ruler

Marking pencil – light or dark dependent on your fabric
