MACHINE QUILTING LEVEL 2
Want to improve your free motion quilting skills on your home sewing machine? You will complete a sampler in class and learn to do a handful of advanced patterns, including swirls, lettering and feathers. This class is for anyone who has had some experience with free motion quilting.
Supplies:
A sample quilt - 2 fat quarters of fabric with a piece of low loft batting sandwiched in between and basted together (pin, thread or spray basted)
Sewing machine with free motion (darning) foot, needles (size 90/14 recommended), bobbins
Marking tools mechanical and or/chalk pencil and long ruler
A short stack of scratch paper and a pen (the paper can be used on one side - we'll us it for practicing free motion designs
Quilting gloves made for quilting such as machingers or use driving or gardening gloves that have rubber fingertips for gripping
The basics: pins, seam ripper, scissors
Optional: bring a quilt top that you'd like to machine quilt and we can discuss options
There will be a break for lunch so plan to either bring lunch or make a quick run to a near by restaurant for takeout.
