Do you like curves but feel a bit intimidated? In this class, we’ll use Sew Kind of Wonderful’s Quick Curve Ruler to make cutting, sewing and trimming a breeze. You can make this quilt any size from a table topper to a giant quilt big enough to hold the whole family for a picnic. Choose scraps or just a few fabrics, this quilt has endless possibilities. This is a great introduction to curved piecing.

Fabric – This will depend on how large you want to make your quilt and how many fabrics you want to use! The pattern envelope gives fabric requirements for a very large (100 block) quilt. The class sample is 80 blocks. You can scale the fabric requirements from the envelope. Mary will help you with this – feel free to contact Mary prior to class to discuss.

Machine Sewing Thread – 50 weight neutral color, this thread won’t show

Sewing machine with all the usual supplies, especially a quarter inch foot.  I recommend using a size 80 needle for this project. In this class, you are expected to have experience operating your sewing machine.

Rotary cutter & quilter’s ruler – this pattern starts the cutting process with 10” squares of fabric so please bring a ruler that is larger than 10” square.

All your favorite sewing notions such as scissors, tweezers, seam ripper, pins, etc. Mary also recommends Mary Ellen’s Best Press.

We will be taking a lunch break; you can either bring a lunch or we will be placing an order from Lyons Dairy Bar

Pre-class preparation: If you want to start sewing as fast as possible, I recommend that you bring a dozen or more 10” squares already cut out. You will have time in class to cut, so if you’re not sure what to do you can wait. In this class, you are expected to have experience with rotary cutting.
