You'll love this sturdy organizer with lots of pockets and inner dividers. It's perfect for your sewing room and  bringing your supplies to classes but it would also be handy for the nursery, office or car. The construction is easy but involves many steps. In this class, you will get a start on your caddy while watching Mary demonstrate every step you need to finish.

Supply list:

Catch All Caddy Pattern

Fabric – Per the pattern envelope, you will need 1 yard each of 3 contrasting fabrics.

Batting – 1 pkg of Soft & Stable – available at Lyons Quilting

For interfacing, please buy ¼ yard of Pellon Décor Bond – it’s available at Lyons Quilting.

You do not need to buy the “strapping” called for in the pattern – I’ve changed the directions to give you an easier yet equally sturdy handle. We’ll go over that change in class.

I did not use the cardboard / foam board that the pattern calls for. I’d recommend making that decision at the end.

Thread – 50 wt sewing thread in a neutral color or one that goes with your fabric, plus a spool of King Tut or other 40 weight sturdy thread to construct your bag.

Sewing machine with all the usual supplies, especially a quarter inch foot and a walking foot if you have one.  I recommend using a size 90 needle for this project. Because you will be sewing through many layers, bring a machine that can handle this kind of construction (featherweights are not a good choice for this bag).

Rotary cutter & quilter’s ruler – bring the longest one you have.

Pins – I recommend bring long flexible pins such as the ones with flowers, butterflies or buttons as heads.

All your favorite sewing notions such as scissors, tweezers, seam ripper, and marking pencils that will show on your fabric.

We will be taking a lunch break; you can either bring a lunch or we will be placing an order from Lyons Dairy Bar

Pre-class preparation: No prep work is required – BUT there are many many steps to making this bag – they aren’t difficult but if you come to class without any preparation, you will not finish your bag in class. If you’d like to construct your bag along with Mary in class, you will need to cut out all the pieces per the pattern plus additional pieces of Pellon Décor Bond that are the same size as the handle pieces. You will also need to quilt the bag front, back & sides per the pattern. If you don’t want to do this prep work or simple don’t have time, bring your stuff to class & work on it here. Mary will give demos that cover making the entire bag so you’ll be able to finish on your own.
