Create beautiful color combinations for your quilts by practicing making blocks with different color schemes in class. You’ll learn the language of color and how fabric patterns work and be inspired by seeing dozens of examples in quilts. You’ll have a notebook full of quilt blocks for color reference at the end of the day.
A color wheel
Pen or pencil for taking notes
An empty 3-ring binder with a 1” to 2” wide spine. (You’ll use this during class.)
Optional—fabrics that you’re having trouble with due to colors (expl. Fabric you hate or “odd” colors.)
All the handouts and fabrics used in class are provided free of charge. You will be choosing fabric scraps to glue onto “quilt blocks” in your notebook for practice. You’ll make examples of color schemes as well as hues, values, temperature, intensity and scale in fabric patterns and be able to keep the notebook for reference for your future quilts.
