THIS CLASS WILL BE IN OUR UPSTAIRS CLASSROOM This Alison Glass pattern uses very traditional quilt blocks to make a very striking modern design. The class will cover several methods to make both flying geese and half square triangles so that you can figure out which methods work best for you. You will be thrilled at your results! This class is appropriate for confident beginners or intermediate students who are familiar with rotary cutting and quarter inch seams. Jelly Roll Rugs are all the rage right now. Join the craze and learn how to make a one! One Jelly Roll (40 precut 2.5 inch strips) will make one rug. They look awesome and really brighten up a room. You can personalize your space with your favorite color scheme of fabric collection. And to top that off you can easily make them into placemats or centerpiece mats too! This is a two session class using one of the patterns by Roma Lambson and RJ Designs. In the first session we will prep the strips and the in the second session we will sew the rug together.

THIS CLASS WILL BE IN OUR UPSTAIRS CLASSROOM Have you purchased a charm pack because the fabric was irresistible but now you are not sure what to do with it? Lil Kira is a great tablerunner that uses 5 inch squares and gives you a way to provide contrast to the trickiest charm pack. This pattern has you cut up the 5 inch squares and sew them back together to get this cute pattern. Class will cover suggestions on how to increase or decrease the size. This class is appropriate for confident beginners or intermediate students who are familiar with rotary cutting and quarter inch seams.

This class will be upstairs. Come spend a day exploring simple color theory for quilters. Students will do several exercises using fabric scraps covering value, scale, and color choices. There is no sewing in this class but we will be working with fabric. students need to bring many small pieces or scraps in a variety of colors and patterns. We will put together great combinations to make a reference notebook for your future use. This class is appropriate for students at all skill levels. This will be a fun, creative day.

More curves! They are so much easier than you think. In this class, we will use Sew Kind of Wonderfuls Mini Quick Curve Ruler to make any quilt from the book Mini Wonderful Curves. There are sew many to choose from modern quilts and a nice selection of seasonal beauties. This is a great introduction to curved piecing.

Ok, you have learned how to do free motion quilting, walking foot quilting and you have even tried out free motion rulerwork. But how do I actually quilt my quilt??? Come learn a step by step, repeatable approach to figure out what you are going to do. You will need to have a finished, basted quilt top for this class. The supply list has some suggestions. In class, you will complete a detailed plan and have studio time to work on the actual quilting. Mary will help you learn new designs for some specific quilt blocks and shapes. You need to have some experience with free motion quilting prior to this class, including how to set up your machine

Join award winning artist Barbara Yates Beasley for five days dedicated to learning fabric collage with animals as the focus. Once you have mastered this technique, use it with any photo or subject. You will start with a photograph and explore many options for creating and finishing your original collage. Each day will begin with instruction and discussion. Barbara will then spend one-on-one time working with each student. A short supply list will be sent to you when you register for the class. You will also receive a kit that includes harder to find items necessary for fabric collage. Sewing machines are available or bring your own. You can expect to finish your artwork by the end of class. Barbaras home studio is nearby in Boulder. We will take an evening to visit the studio to see where the magic happens followed by a light dinner on the deck.
