This class will be upstairs. You have pieced a striking top and the quilting is lovely, but the last step is holding you back. This class will take you through the binding choices that confront you. Topics will include double fold binding, two-toned binding, art quilt facing, self binding, bias vs. straight grain, and hand sewing vs machine sewing. We will discuss which type is best in a variety of situations. This class is appropriate for any level of quilter and the instructor has been binding quilts since the 1980s.

This class is upstairs! Has machine quilting made hand quilting obsolete? Not at all! It remains a viable option to finish your quilts, whether done over your entire quilt or to enhance certain areas. This class will cover how to hand quilt using a lap hoop (traditional stitch and big stitch), how to choose a quilting design to compliment your quilt top, and how to mark your quilt. This class is appropriate for quilters of any experience level and the instructor has been hand quilting for thirty plus years.

THIS CLASS IS UPSTAIRS AT LYONS QUILTING Using a simple technique, you will learn to create a pattern suitable for your comfort zone and level of expertise. You will learn to see value and use that knowledge to change your colors from natural to fanciful if you would like. I will also cover different ways to make your animals eyes come to life, how to use shading with pen and pencil, and how to finish by mounting your artwork on canvas.

Jelly Roll Rug/Christmas Tree Skirt

Christmas time is such a magical time of year! The Jelly Roll Rug Tree Skirt will add a beautiful, individualized look to your Christmas d?cor or give one as a special gift to cherished people on your list. The pattern, by Roma Lambson, has instructions for 3 sizes - small 26" diameter (uses 20 strips), medium 38" diameter (uses 40 strips) and large 54" diameter (uses 80 strips). If you prefer, you can also make the Jelly Roll Rug in this class instead of the Tree Skirt. This is a two session class using either the Jelly Roll Rug Tree Skirt or the Jell Roll Rug pattern by Roma Lambson and RJ Designs. In the first session we will prep the strips and the in the second session we will sew the rug together.

This class is upstairs! Your table will look wonderful with a different table runner for each season of the year! You choose which season you would like to work on in class. The class will cover basic piecing strategies, such as half-square triangles, quarter-square triangles, snow balled corners and accurate quarter inch seams. You will also learn some basic machine quilting techniques and how to bind non right corners. This class is for the experienced beginner and is taught by the pattern designer.

Sharpen Your Piecing Skills is designed to help you improve your piecing skills.
